The Standard Behind the Standards

We don’t just follow the rules — we help write them.

Triple-Certified. Globally Trusted.

CRALOG holds three Bureau Veritas certifications, supporting compliance with SOLAS III / MSC.402(96) — and was the first in the world to achieve third-party certification to ISO 23678.

Accepted everywhere

  • Bureau Veritas is recognised by 127 flag States and has classed 10,000+ vessels.
  • CRALOG certificates cover any make, type and model of lifesaving appliance, on virtually any vessel type.
  • We train and certify our own experts — 500+ certified personnel across 100+ locations.

Beyond Certificates

We don’t just teach the standards — we set them.

  • Technical advisors to IMO — helped shape MSC.402(96) in 2016 (mandatory lifeboat inspection) and MSC.532(107) in 2023 (mandatory lifting-appliance inspection)
  • Liaison organisation to ISO — contributed as experts via Danish Standards to ISO 23678 (input completed 2020, published 2022)
  • Daily support for shipowners, yards, flag states and class societies — from quick fixes to long-term strategy

Mission & Quality Goals

Make service providers easily accessible to vessel operators in any port. To be the first choice for vessel managers when inspections of lifeboats and cranes are needed.

Legalisation, compliance, training, experience and a sound professional judgement shall be the foundations of all our inspections.

The organisation commits to maintaining authorisations from the most respected flag administrations worldwide, while emphasising openness, honesty and transparency in all business operations.

Code of Conduct

CRALOG collaborates closely with flag states, classification societies, manufacturers, service providers and ship-owners to define inspection content and meet applicable standards.

  • Certified personnel must not work on equipment outside their certification scope
  • Non-compliance incidents must be reported when personnel are forced to work beyond their credentials
  • All maintenance, examination and repair work must comply with IMO Requirements (paragraphs 4.2 and 4.3)
  • Health, safety and environment (HSE) procedures established by the company must be followed
